Faux Brick Accent Wall
I set out to remodel my master bedroom in the interior Industrial design style with a subtle rock music edge. First, I divided the project timeline/process into three phases: 1) faux brick accent wall, lighting, nightstands, & accent decor 2) ceiling fan relocation, canopy bed, rug, & framed artwork 3) suspended metal ceiling planters. By creating 3 phases, it allowed me to focus on specific tasks that required permanent work before some areas became inaccessible (ie: wiring/sconces before the brick installed over the drywall, brick accent wall installed before the canopy bed blocked it, ceiling fan relocated before the canopy bed’s height interfered… etc).
I chose faux brick panels with more thickness, depth, texture, and color authenticity than the cheap/budget ones that you can find at the local hardware store. In my opinion, cheaper options seem to have garish /saturated primary color that doesn’t present itself as genuine brick. It’s a trade-off though, as the realistic panels that I used were pricey in comparison to others. If your plan is to install white brick, then there might not be an advantage to installing expensive panels like mine… some of the lower-cost faux brick panel brands offer white options as well, and in that case, the realistic color becomes one less important factor to consider.
